James T. (Jimmy) Davis

James T. (Jimmy) Davis retired after 52 years of teaching in higher education, including 36 years in the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University. As an artist, his exhibition experience encompasses 35 one-man shows, 14 invitational group shows, and 84 competitive national and international juried art exhibitions (31 international), winning 38 juried awards. He is a West Texas Watercolor Society member, a Watercolor Artists Society-Houston member, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society Member and a Signature Member of both the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies and the San Diego Watercolor Society.

His paintings are currently available through Napier Frames in Laurel, Mississippi, and Broadway Contemporary Art Gallery in Lubbock, Texas. His works are in prominent public and private collections in Jackson, Meridian, Gulfport, Natchez, Brookhaven, Laurel, Hattiesburg, Oxford and Quitman, Mississippi; New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Mobile and Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Kansas City, Missouri; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Saginaw, Michigan; Miami, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Los Angeles, California; Memphis, Tennessee; Port Arthur and Lubbock, Texas, and Rome, Italy. Davis is now devoted to watercolor painting and writing adventure/thriller fiction. His recently published novel, Red Dog Dead, is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble booksellers and other online booksellers. A native of Laurel, Mississippi, he divides his time between Lubbock, Texas, and his farm in Wayne County, Mississippi.
