The inspiration for this metal sculpture is from the native Common Sunflowers that grow wild in West Texas. Their hardiness and beauty speak to their tenacity and optimism. The flowers were created from cultivator wheels and spin on their stalks. The remaining parts were from found objects and cut metal and then shaped and welded. To finish out the piece, there are two bees on top of metal honeycomb on the base of the sculpture.
