Information

Eligibility

The exhibition is open to both members and nonmembers. Dues of $45 must be paid for eligibility. Dues can be paid either online with Paypal or in-person (Venmo /Cash / Check) at the gallery. Membership dues must be received before 11:59 p.m. CST on _________, when registration for the show closes. 

Entry Fees

$___ per entry for a maximum of ____ entries. Entry fees must be paid online or in-person. Applying is a three-step process: 1) upload your paintings by emailing broadwaycontemporary@yahoo.com, 2) Apply by filling out form on our "Call for Artist" page, 3) Pay your entry fee & due for completion.

Guidelines & Restrictions

  1.  Only one entry per artist will be accepted into the show. Each artist may enter up to ___ entries. 

  2. All mediums are accepted, including photography. All accepted artwork are required to be able to hang for the duration of the show. 

  3. All work must be original, completed within the last two years, without instructor supervision. Class or workshop art, as well as artwork entered into previous BC judged shows are not eligible. If you use a photo reference, it must be taken by you or you must have permission to use the image. 

  4. No "found" / colored / preprinted commercial papers, and no "found" objects will be accepted

  5. No diptychs or triptychs are accepted

  6. No paintings of nudes are accepted

  7. The minimum accepted painted image size - without mat or frame - is 5" x 7" & the maximum size is 16" x 20"

  8. Maximum outside framed size is ____ in either direction. Simple frames are encouraged. (Damaged frames will not be accepted and hung)

  9. All artwork must be ready to hang with wire. No saw-tooth hangers. Please use D-rings instead of screw eyes. 

  10. Entries received after the designated hand-delivery or shipped art deadlines will not be judged

  11. Art must hang in the show for the duration of the show. To do otherwise puts our show venues in a bind and ruins the integrity of the exhibit.

  12. Works which do not meet these specifications or differ substantially from the image submitted will be disqualified. BC reserves the right to refuse any entry. 

Digital Image Submission via Email

Digital image submissions should show the painted image only, not the mat or the frame. Only a JPEG or JPG format is permitted, with an image size under 5 MB, and a minimum of 1,200 pixels on the largest side. Please title the email: "First Name_Last Name_Small Works Application(Date)". Please include Title of painting, Medium, Measurements, Price/Value & the Year the painting was made, along with your phone number, website (is available), & mailing address. 

 

If you prefer to receive payments from Broadway Contemporary via Venmo if your artwork were to sell, please provide your Venmo information into the email with your artwork. 

Hand Delivered & Shipped Art

Local accepted artists are responsible for delivery of their artwork to BC for installation and for picking up at the conclusion of the exhibition, per the specific dates and times noted in the "Calendar Dates". BC cannot receive hand-delivered art before the drop-off window of ________, and are not responsible for the secure storage of the art not picked up during the pick-up window of ______. (All artwork should have the Artist Name, Title, Medium and phone number on back of delivered work)

Remote accepted artists that need to ship their art via Fed Ex, UPS or their preferred shipper, please reach out for shipping information. All shipping costs including providing the return shipping label with artwork are the sole responsibility of the artist. You are encouraged to insure your art when shipping. BC will not be responsible for damage incurred prior to reaching BC. Your artwork will be repacked, and return shipped as received, employing the shipping materials provided by the artist. 

Sales & 
Commissions

Broadway Contemporary will receive ___% commission on all paintings sold. The gallery will declare the sales tax. No price changes will be admissible after acceptance into the show. It is required for all artwork accepted into the show to have a sales price. 

Liability

BC will exercise due care in handling of artwork submitted to this exhibition. Broadway Contemporary will not be responsible for any loss or damage to your artwork. You are responsible for insuring your painting. 

Use of Images

Acceptance into any BC Small Works Exhibition gives Broadway Contemporary the right to use images of your artwork for promotional purposes. Digital archives of accepted entries will be retained by BC to be used for the exhibition printed materials, social media and website. 

Acceptance

Broadway Contemporary has the right to refuse any painting that does not meet the Prospectus Guidelines and Restrictions or is not accurately represented by the image submitted.

Artists will receive email notification of works accepted or not accepted into the Exhibition

Agreement

Entering this exhibition shall constitute an agreement on the part of the artist to accept all rules and conditions as set forth in this Prospectus.
